Citizens Advice East Lancashire is seeking a motivated full time Advice Supervisor to play a crucial role in our Burnley and Pendle offices. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead our dedicated generalist advice team and support our Universal Credit Help to Claim team, with the possibility of incorporating some remote working into your schedule. Salary up to £28,840 dependant on experience

What will your impact be?

  • Inspiring and guiding volunteer and paid generalist advisers: Providing essential support, mentoring, and constructive feedback to empower them in their roles.

  • Ensuring effective advice delivery: Overseeing advice sessions in our Burnley and Pendle offices and local community outreaches, guaranteeing a high-quality service for our clients in line with our service offer .

  • Maintaining quality standards: Reviewing case records and offering guidance to uphold the accuracy and effectiveness of our advice.

  • Solving challenges collaboratively: Addressing complex queries and resolving any issues that arise during advice sessions.

  • Fostering a positive and supportive team spirit across our Burnley and Pendle locations.

  • Contributing to the training and development of our valuable volunteer team.

  • Potentially undertaking some supervisory tasks remotely, offering flexibility.

What skills and experience do you bring?

  • You have substantial experience in providing advice and information in social welfare law, ideally within the Citizens Advice network or a similar advice-giving organisation.

  • You possess strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for motivating and supporting individuals.

  • Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent.

  • You are highly organised and adept at managing multiple responsibilities effectively.

  • You are deeply committed to the principles and mission of Citizens Advice.

  • Previous experience in supervising or mentoring others is highly valued.

  • You are self-motivated and capable of managing your workload effectively, including when working remotely.
